An unforgettable experience from Spain

Lamia, a participant in the  program, shared with us her experience in cultural exchange with Spain. Read below:

Sunsets in Madrid? I’ve never seen it better! The day lasts more than 13 hours and you have time for everything! To write about Spain you would need a special column, and I will briefly share with you my experiences for the month and a half I spent there. The cities where I spent most of my time were Madrid and Valencia, but I also visited Toledo, Merida (Extremadura), and the capital of the neighboring country, Lisbon.

From the moment I landed on Spanish soil, I felt that a part of me belonged there, and this was confirmed by the smiles on the faces of people I met on the streets, shops, cinemas, beaches, restaurants, museums, temples and of course in the family home. where I stayed. I’m really not exaggerating when I say you’ll have a hard time meeting a grim face, and many will offer you advice, help, or give you a compliment yourself. In addition to many memories, new friendships and acquired knowledge of culture, I returned with a much richer vocabulary of the Spanish language.

In the host’s house, I felt like a member of the family, and sometimes as a guest, because they came out to meet me more than I expected. Thank them for that!
