Spain during Coronavirus from our Candidates’ Perspective

Many of our candidates have found themselves in one of the countries affected by the coronavirus epidemic. Since the safety of each candidate is important to us, we are in constant communication with them.

Below you can read what Jovana, who is currently in a cultural exchange program with Spain, has to say about the current situation and how the introduced quarantine affects her:

“Greetings to everybody and I hope you are in your homes. My name is Jovana Bajić and I am from Belgrade, Serbia. The family I am staying at is from Pontevedra, northwestern Spain. Ever since the situation with the virus began, we have been officially in quarantine since March 13, 2020. Everything stopped in a moment. Everything is closed, except for hospitals, pharmacies and markets. People took this seriously, and so did I.

I have a great family that is trying to make my life in quarantine easier, and I try the same for them. Everything is going well with the children: we play, draw, sing, dance, watch cartoons or movies, and teach each other languages.

Nothing much has changed in my life here except that we do not go out. Nervousness and panic occur from time to time, but even that passes. I am grateful to my family for their support, acceptance, and not giving up.”
