Angela, a participant in the cultural exchange program with Spain, is writing us from Mallorca.
Below are her impressions: “Coming to Spain, a trip to any other foreign country, especially those that mean a little longer stay and coexistence with local people, is the best thing anyone can do if they are open to new experiences.
It may not seem as great at first as you hoped, until you adjust to a different routine and coexistence, but that period passes relatively quickly, and you realize how happy you are to have the opportunity to have an experience like this. Food, people, music, nature, buildings – at every step you will come across something that will delight you and confirm that the choice of country and program in general was a complete hit.
People in Spain are always ready to help, but you should know that English is not their strong point, so it is not worse to know the basics of Spanish. When it comes to food and drink, there are no failures, unavoidable dishes such as paella, tortilla, tapas – can be found at every turn and often at affordable prices. Nature takes your breath away even in winter, with palm trees, orange trees, cacti – you will have the feeling that you are in some eternal spring. Architecture is just a special thing, from more rural areas through the city center to historical parts with important landmarks, you will want to photograph everything – from the most ordinary house to the magnificent cathedral. In the end, all one needs to enjoy this experience is openness to new things and a willingness to give in to them, and the opportunity is many. “
